Insurance and financial safeguard for UK tourists against end service provider insolvency

Abstract

Modern transport and tourism infrastructure, along with diverse vacation, entertainment, sports, and recreation options, meet a wide range of individual preferences and interests. Frequent travels by UK tourists and various risks in trip planning can sometimes prevent them from enjoying services they expected. A potential risk for British travellers going abroad is losing money if a service provider becomes insolvent. Their financial protection is provided through the schemes administered by the Civil Aviation Authority and the ABTA Limited (ABTA – The Travel Association), ensuring cover in case of airlines and travel agents insolvency for prepaid package tours. This paper examines passenger insurance against end provider failure and financial protection for credit and debit card payments in UK. https://erevija.org/wp-content/uploads/2026/09/S.-Jovanovic_Osiguranje-i-finansijska-zastita-britanskih-turista.pdf
