In this article I tried to draw attention to the complexity of civil liability insurance arising from its insured peril and, particularly, to importance of identifying types of civil liability from the insurance point of view.
Regardless of origin and concept of the general tort, structure of an insurance product in insurance practice is far different if the object of insurance is non-commercial or commercial civil liability. Their basic differences hopefully contribute to that.
Special attention in the article has been devoted to time aspect of the insured event in liability insurance. Different solutions in insurance practice were described, their advantages, drawbacks and validity.
