Risk management with a focus on risks in a plant production

Abstract

Frequent encounters with various risks that are threatening us in everyday life and especially business and economic activities are a constant occurrence. Plant production is a distinct economic activity that is carried out in the open and as such is exposed to a greater number of risks. The paper will discuss the general concept, elements and types of risks as well as the distinction of risks in plant production. Farmers who are at risk during plant production can access the risk management process that takes place in several stages. One of the risk management phases is the choice of risk management methods. One of the most important risk management methods is insurance; in plant production it is the insurance of crops and fruits; whose basic characteristics are transfer of risk from individuals to the group and division of loss by all members of the risk community.
