In this article, I hope to provide a commentary on the main changes introduced in the Institute Cargo Clauses 2009, the reasons for their introduction as well as some analysis of their potential impact in the current unstable economic and political climate facing the insurance market sand an analysis of the recent common-law jurisprudence around the revisions clauses. While not an exhaustive discussion, the identification of recurrent themes shows the concerns at the back of the revisions introduced prior to their publication.
